In April, the Toronto Roller Derby League (ToRD) selected Sistering as their charity of choice for 2008.

At every league game for the season, ToRD held a 50/50 draw and donated the proceeds to Sistering. They also ran a donation drive at each game to collect items for Sistering. From the Booby Drive, collecting gently used bras and new underwear, to clothes for work and appointments, power drinks, makeup and toiletries ToRD fans have helped supply Sistering with items women need.

Cash donations from ToRD directly support Sistering’s Harm Reduction Program. The August 15 ToRD fundraiser at The Annex Wreck Room, with games and prizes, raised additional funds to support Sistering.

Sistering thanks ToRD for a great partnership of women helping women, and for spreading the word to Toronto Roller Derby fans who don’t already know about Sistering.
