SISTERING SOLIDARITY WALK 2026

Being a team captain or solo walker in the Sistering Solidarity Walk is a powerful way to lead in community. Your care and commitment help create a supportive, inclusive space for everyone involved, while raising awareness about housing insecurity and the realities faced by women and gender-diverse people. This journey is about walking toward equity, dignity, and access to essential support, and every step you take matters.

Personal stories inspire action. By sharing your “why” and speaking up about housing insecurity, you help make invisible struggles visible. Getting loud for Sistering amplifies the cause and turns every conversation, post, and step into a catalyst for change.

Funds raised through the Solidarity Walk support Sistering’s core programs and services, and are directed to the areas where the need is greatest at any given time.

This includes sustaining Sistering’s 24/7 drop-in services, such as access to food, harm reduction supplies, basic necessities, wellness and health supports, crisis support, and referrals to housing and community resources. Rather than being limited to one specific program, donations allow frontline staff to respond flexibly and with dignity to the real, immediate needs of women and gender-diverse people accessing Sistering’s services.

Please wear comfortable walking shoes or boots with good traction and dress in warm, weather-appropriate layers, as March weather can be unpredictable. Hats, gloves, and a scarf are recommended. Bringing water is encouraged.

Snacks, soup, and warm coffee, tea, and water will be provided at the event. Walk materials and signage will also be available on site.
