My Digital Story was an extremely immersive experience for me. It definitely took me back to those experiences and situations in my childhood, teen and young adulthood where I survived such brokenness and chaos. This completed piece of work is so very representational of the strong, brave and bold woman I am today and of course who I continue to push forward in becoming as I continue to heal and evolve in my life’s journey.

I carry a lot in my stories. The weight has been shared by this group of fine individuals who now mean so much to me!

As a Peer Researcher in the Making Visible Digital Stories, I was struck by the amazing camaraderie, love, and support that we had as a group. These were intense weeks. I struggled so much while bringing up these painful memories, to write my story and to produce the video. Never did I feel alone, as my group leaders, peers and a few special people in my life, supported me and gently encouraged me to slowly find my voice. A small contribution, in hope we can help to bring awareness. That we can be heard and inspire communities, reaching out to those in power, and shaping the way finding better solutions and understanding, to the hidden truths of homelessness, housing precarity, and insecure housing conditions.
